About The Mitchell Corporation

The Mitchell Corporation was founded in 1963 by Stephen P. Mitchell. Together with his wife Charlotte, who still serves as corporate secretary and office manager, Mr. Mitchell effected the growth of The Mitchell Corporation so that it is now one of Chicagoland's leading independent insurance agencies. Mr. Mitchell had been the executive Vice-President of a large loop insurance brokerage firm and held a number of other executive positions prior to this time which uniquely qualified him to form his own insurance agency. Serving as C.E.O. until his retirement and chairman of the board until his death in 1989, Mr. Mitchell surrounded himself with professionals and knowledgeable insurance personnel who today are The Mitchell Corporation. The present employees together have over 130 years of service in the insurance business.

With a deep faith in God, Mr. Mitchell adopted Romans 12:11 as a guide for the agency. "Not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord" has grown to be the hallmark of service to clients by the staff of The Mitchell Corporation. Like most small businesses in America, The Mitchell Corporation employs several family members and others who have come to feel like family. The staff likes to think in a greater sense of all their clients as family and counts it their privilege to serve this family as their insurance agents, brokers and consultants.

Located in Chicago for five years & South Holland for 36 years, The Mitchell Corporation moved to northwest Indiana in 2004 to better serve their clients from new offices in Dyer's Woudeland Professional Center. The traditions begun in 1963 continue today.
